Hello! I am an assistant professor of economics at Oberlin College. My research focuses on the behavioral economics of low-probability, high-impact (LPHI) events, ranging from individual property damage claims to global annihilation.Â
In my job market paper, I use Zillow's ZTRAX dataset to examine whether personal exposure to flooding events changes one's homebuying behavior in subsequent years. You can see more of my research here and check out my CV.
I am also the coauthor of a textbook on health economics published in 2013 that is used at colleges and universities around the world.
